Here's a look at last years events, keep checking back to see this years events which are looking to be bigger and better and will be updated soon!
Cyril the Squirrel and his Racing Terriers
Let Cyril the Squirrel, along with his racing terriers, entertain you. These little canine stars run riot in the ring as they perform their hilarious display. They race on the flat and over jumps, also enjoy watching them being ridden by enthusiastic jockeys. Witness the unique highlight of the show when these little daredevils perform the famous "Ring of Fire". During the 2 x 25 minute displays any available dogs and their owners from outside the ring are encouraged to take part and test their skills against Cyril who is with us both days.
Cyril the Squirrel has appeared at Sandringham Driving Trials, Wayland Agricultural Show, East of England Show, The First National Countryside Show at Earls Court, CLA Game Fair, Newbury Agricultural Show, Mid Somerset Show, Suffolk Show and many more.
Vehicle Exhibits
John Marshall again offers us his expert commentary on both days describing the range of vehicles from bygone days- cars, motor cycles, tractors, buses the way you remember them in your childhood
Fun Football
On Saturday the Festival starts with this (sort of !) competition. Choose a team and cheer them on
Tug o War
On the far bank throughout Sunday, these serious tug o war teams tug away. This competition is now in its 5th year and is becoming one of the traditions of the Festival as teams come from far and wide
Battle of Britain Memorial Flight
Another Festival tradition- this year on Sunday. This year, for the first time, the BBMF are planning to flypast both a Spitfire and a Hurricane
Roger the Puppet Man
Roger came to the Festival last year for the first time. A big success, he returns to us this year. It’s Punch and Judy, balloon modelling, games and magic- fun for all the family on both days.
Newark and Sherwood Concert Band
This band is a great favourite at the Festival so we are very pleased to welcome them again. They comprise around 40 musicians and, on Sunday, will play for you 3 sessions of marches, music from shows, and film themes
Kids and Co
Kids and Co , another of our favourites, are with us on Sunday. They meet at the 5th Newark Scout Hut, George St, Newark. Members of the group are encouraged to take examinations in ballet, tap, modern and acrobatics

Tuxford School Band
We are delighted to welcome this band to the Festival for the third time. Tuxford School is well-known locally for the way they inspire enthusiasm for music. For you they will present pop, soul and breakdancing on Saturday.
The Fletcher
Neil and family come to the Festival from the West Country. They are with us both days so you can see how arrows used to be made by watching Neil demonstrate his skill, and have a go yourself. This year, he will be near the entrance gate.
Retford Band
This brass band will help with the Festival opening by marching in at the start. They will also play for you later in the day on Saturday.
The Displays
This year, we plan to show an exhibition of ancient broaches and pottery, and also a potter at work
The Ultimate Bric a Brac
It just gets bigger every year. How can one village house so much junk? – sorry, items of special interest.
Try Your Luck
Hundreds of items donated by the people of Sutton on Trent now produce a mega tombola, a raffle on each day, and a wine tombola. The income from these goes a long way to pay the costs of the acts we book for your entertainment
New Around the Festival
Each year we have a mixture of new and old. New this year around the field , you will on either one or both days, see some magicians, Laser Shooting, and a Rodeo Bul
Food and Drink
A refreshments area, an extensive range of barbequed food, a bar, a cake stall, locally produced ice cream, a horticulture show and plant stall and last but not least a honey show where you can buy locally produced honey. There’s no need to go home hungry or thirsty
Family games
We introduced some family games last year and they were very popular so, if you missed them last year, or even if you didn’t, you’ll have a second chance this year.
